A BIT ABOUT US
Your Online Journal
The Ogham Stone is a yearly literary journal based in Limerick. Produced by the students in the MA in English and the MA in Creative Writing programmes at the University of Limerick, it is fast emerging as a distinctive and prestigious context for new writing in Ireland. It strives to provide original and thought-provoking short stories, poems and essays covering a variety of interesting topics.
We pride ourselves on combining high-quality stories with our special editorial touch and unique creative design. The production is guided by Dr Tim Groenland and Joseph Woods, who have been involved in the creation of the literary journal in the recent years.
The journal was first launched in 2014 by a small group of students, and has grown wide recognition since. Each issue showcases important new writing by established and emerging Irish writers as well as international contributors.

This year, the journal will showcase work by the Alumni, current students and staff of UL. The theme of The Ogham Stone 2024 edition is Recollection and will showcase works of poetry, short stories, flash fiction, and creative nonfiction that engages this theme.
